Homecoming 2009

Greetings Blog readers!!!

Just a quick update on another side of the Roberts clan.....We are all doing fine and well with the weather being cold. I think Ann is on to something about this Global Warming Issue the government and tree hugger groups are talking about. Anyway, we had to update this page to keep family members from talking ugly about us....LOL.....

Hope had the honor of participating in the Homecoming Court 2009 at PCA last night. As you can see by the pictures, both Emma and Hope showed the PCA spirit wonderfully. More pictures can be found at http://gallery.mac.com/troberts_vp

Off to ballet now with our other star, before preparing for the "BIG" dance tonight......Take care all. We miss getting together and talking with everyone.

Robyn & Hope Update

Hello all.
A quick update on how our two mission workers are doing in tropical Jamaica. We heard from them today that all is well with them, each teams suitcases of supplies made it thru Customs and no one is sick. What great news. The 56 members start their day at 7:00 with God time before breakfast and then off to either construction projects or to one of two schools. Robyn and Hope are at the schools teaching, games and also story time.
An update will be given tomorrow after we talk to them tonight.

PRAY for each one of them. The first night, a storm knocked the power out. No big deal, except for the fact that they only get power for a few hours in the evening anyway.....Robyn said that taking a shower with only the light from a small flashlight was not what she thought she would experience during her trip this year. At least they had a flashlight.

WIll update this tomorrow.

Fall Update

Hello Blog world!
We are all going crazy with ballet winding down, cheerleading starting up and the holidays moving ever so quickly to their arrival dates.

Several weeks ago, we went to visit the Funny/Limit Farm to see the girls participating in the wagon train adventure, Ho and also the Bear working. What a wonderful trip it was to see everyone and to tour the Biltmore house. Pictures can be viewed at: http://gallery.mac.com/troberts_vp .
There are several different picture events at the site. Please check often to see what is going on with us.

We are now 7 days away from Robyn and Hope heading to Galina, Jamaica for a huge mission trip. They are to assist again with the elementary school, nursing home and general showing of God's love. They are nervous about forgetting anything or something that will be needed during their time at the school or out. They will get to have a little time the last day before heading home the Saturday after turkey day. We are sending a camera with Robyn to take pictures of her journey and to create a storybook for when she and Hope return to share with everyone.

Talk with you soon,
Us

Awesome Men's Conference

Hello all. Wanted to update you on a wonderful weekend Tim had attending the Christian City Church Atlanta Mens Conference. The C3 event was held Thursday until today with 86 men from the church attending. An awesome time was had by all. The temperature reached 33 in the morning on Saturday and a warm balmy 41 this morning. Many of the men stayed in open air cabins usually used for summer with the basics of water and lights.
As you can see by the picture Tim took with his phone, that this was Holy Ground and that the Holy Spirit was surrounding all of the men and instructors. Yes, instructors. The C3 church continues to use the Journey mentality for their delivery method of discipline, teaching and general order. The time by all age groups of men allowed for God to open the hearts of the men that allowed and asked for the blessings that were on their hearts. The picture is of the canoe and swim area closed for the summer back in August. Of course, the C3 men, did not hedde this warning and rumbled, tumbled and fellowshipped in the coldest, nastiest water found near camp. No, this was not clean, but was Holy water......LOL......
More on this can be found at the (http://christiancitychurchatlanta.ning.com/events/event/show?id=2097024:Event:72159) remember to cut and paste the link Mom.....:)

Emma's back and now Hope's gone

Well, for about 31 hours we had both of the girls on the Roberts Ranch in downtown Loganville. Emma had a blast at Kanuga, never had rain, but had loads of fun. The best time ever were the actual words.
And now for round two of Girls Gone Camping. Hope took off this morning with the rest of the tenth and eleventh grade students to Encounter. The Sharp Top Cove camp, located in Jasper, GA is where the entire Providence High School is bonding, learning love, caring and about their own personal relationship with God. This is something that Hope was looking forward to. You can see her departing from the bus and walking with her classmates to the lodge. Each day, the students will post the pictures from the day so that parents can pray for each of the them and feel as if we are there.
To see more pictures of the Encounter program, visit: http://www.slide.com/r/fnAnf4073z-3Lh-IXb_k_ZZkyOMhU8iE?previous_view=186&action_details=9%3A0&view=original.
Mom, you will need to highlight the link and then copy and paste into the address bar.....LOL!!!!

We also want to shout out a great big HOWDY!!!!! for Jenna, Tori and Sam. We are proud of The Farm Girls for doing a great job with the Cows, Sheep and Turkey showings....Love the pix's.

Hope's New Car

Well, we have moved another step forward on this wonderful journey of life. If you have not heard, we have replaced two of the three biggest parts on the Jeep and are now back to the original drive feeling of why we wanted the Jeep. But in the process, we have now gained a little red, or I should say, Hope has gained a little red thing to haul her and her sister around town. A big THANK YOU!!!! goes out to Gammy who purchased the car, saying that it is only a coincidence that the car is Jawja red. Yea right.... As you can see by the pictures, the car was placed in her assigned parking space at school without her knowing anything about it.
Robyn and Gammy, had the car washed, balloons placed around the car and backed into the parking spot. Hope and Emma were waiting in the carpool line to be picked up when word spread that someone was getting a car it looked like, with people standing around and the car with balloons. It took about five minutes for the word to reach Hope and then a little later for Emma to come over to see who it was. Hope's first statement was....." Is this a joke?" No way..... you see, we had a little talk on the way to school about trying to get the car, costs, insurance and the gas issue. With all that has happened with our family in the last few weeks, what a great blessing that Hope was able to get the car that she needed. What an AWESOME GOD we serve...... As you can see by the pictures, there was celebration.....shock and then this morning, the first drive to school by herself. As for Emma, she is headed toward Granny bear's place at Camp Kanuga in Hendersonville. She, along with her entire 7th grade class will be having a blast until Friday.
We ask that you think about her and us while she is away.
Have a fruitful day,
Us

Jeep broken.....

Hey, one last thing. Our mechanic friend is fixing the Jeep for something new this week. Last week the transmission, this week the AC.....but he was able to provide us with a car to use during the transition. We are interested in an even swap trade, better gas mileage, just a little bit smaller ride for all four of us. If it was just two, well even I am smart enough to trade for this one.
